Things to see and do near Dolgead Hall

The local area around Dolgead Hall is rich in Welsh heritage. There are charming towns and villages, historic houses, gardens, galleries and museums, all with easy reach of the park.  There is the famous Powis Castle, a summer haunt of the Royal Family, with it's superb terraced gardens and one of the finest collections of painting and furniture in Wales, or the 17th Century or  Glansevern Hall with 18 acres of wonderful gardens.  

Take a steam train ride on the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway or browse around the shops in the picturesque market town of Welshpool, and eat in one of the many good restaurant or country pubs.  

A little further afield there are the popular and bustling seaside resorts of the Mid-Wales coast, like Tywyn and Aberdovey, which are only an hours drive away from the park.
